Christopher Carroll, PhD, is a a writer, publisher, and cultural sociologist who lives in Wisconsin. Winnie-the-Pooh and the Honey Jar Mishap was his debut children's book, followed by Seahorse Protectors: The Mystery of Trash Island. Both were written and illustrated with his daughter, Simone. PIn his previous life as a university professor and social scientist, he researched and wrote several publications, including: a cultural sociology textbook and his PhD dissertation on culture and religion on Chicago's Southside Irish and Mexican Americans for his doctorate from Northwestern University. He is passionate about the importance of reading for child development and has taught and worked at several universities and literacy and youth organizations. When he's not writing or hanging out with his family, he enjoys reading, mountain biking, skiing, and coaching his daughter's hockey team.
