Digital Art Meets Storytelling: A Hands-on Workshop

Are you ready to turn your iPad into a professional art studio? Tribus Press is thrilled to announce two upcoming Procreate drawing tutorials at the Cedarburg Public Library. Led by father-daughter duo Christopher and Simone Carroll, these sessions are designed to inspire the next generation of digital artists and storytellers.

Event Details & Registration

We are hosting two age-specific sessions to ensure every child gets the most out of their digital art experience:

For Younger Artists (Ages 6-13): The Yeti Tutorial Learn the basics of Procreate and learn to draw a friendly, fuzzy Yeti! We will focus on simple shapes, brush textures, and having fun with colors.

For Older Artists (Ages 14+): The Snowy Scene Tutorial Dive deeper into layers, lighting, and environmental effects. We’ll guide you through creating a breathtaking, high-resolution snowy landscape.

Why Procreate?

At Tribus Press, digital art is at the heart of what we do. We used Procreate to illustrate our latest children's books, including the 2024 release Seahorse Protectors: The Mystery of Trash Island and our debut, Winnie-the-Pooh and the Honey Jar Mishap.

During the workshop, we’ll be showing how the very same tools the kids are using were used to create the professional illustrations in our published books. We will have copies of our books available for purchase and signing at the event!

About the Instructors

Christopher Carroll is the founder of Tribus Press and a PhD in cultural sociology. He is joined by his 7-year-old daughter and co-author/illustrator, Simone Carroll, who has been using Procreate to co-create books since she was three.
